Application Process

Inspection

The first step we take is to inspect the outside walls of you property before work is started thus enabling problem areas to be identified.

Cleaning Down

Remove all dirt, mould, algae and loose paint by power washing, wire brush or scraping. Treat with ANTI FUNGICIDE if algae or mold growth are present. Preparation is of paramount importance and will no doubt determine the success or failure of any project. We take great care and attention to ensure that all substrates are stringently cleaned down and made ready for the next stages of application.

Repairs & Restoration

The next stage is to repair all damaged and worn surfaces,
reinstating with the appropriate materials.
damaged render is removed and cracks are hacked out.
Great care is taken towards achieving an invisible repair.
Re-pointing is carried out where necessary and spalled brick faces are re-instated using a sand and cement mix to create the illusion that the brick is perfect underneath.
Mortar lines will still be preserved. Unless you require a Trowel and Roll Coating.

Profile Reconstruction

Previous unpainted brickwork can be bag rubbed with an P.V.A. mortar mix to lose the imperfections whilst retaining the natural brick appearance. Pebble dashed finishes as well as any other textured rendered finish can also receive this treatment if the surface type is heavily scarred. This reduces the likely hood of imperfections and helps to achieve a very favorable result on even the most uneven of surfaces.

Slushcoat Sealer

A Primer/Slushcoat is a high performance base coat, to be used on damp or dry surfaces, applied by spray or masonry brush prior to the final application. This penetrates into the surface and provides excellent adhesion and weather proofing properties. This application provides a base for the final application to adhere to, creating a bond that is permanent for the lifespan of the coating. Life span is estimated at 25 years plus. Remember this when choosing your colour.

Types of Coatings

The final application is applied in either smooth, fine, or coarse texture. The coarse texture helps to conceal any repair work and is more than 20 times thicker than ordinary paint. Once the base coat receives this application a chemical reaction takes place bonding the two coats together. There are at present many great colours to choose from to compliment any type of property.

Trowel and Roll Coating

Remove all existing hollow/porous surfaces from the property, using hand tools or power tools ie: kango hammer equipment, dependent on how solid the wall surface is (if the surface is strong and not hollow, the GRC render can be applied over the wall surface). Mask all doors windows, fascias, soffits boards; protect patios, shrubs, plants and other items where necessary. Clean down the wall substrate, either by wire brushing and power washing or even needlegunning. Bio wash to remove algae or any contaminates on the wall surfaces. Trowel apply, either 2 or 3 coats of reinforced armoured fibre render to wall elevations as required. Trowel and roller apply the top coat of textured coating in the chosen colour.

Housekeeping

Great care is taken to unmask all windows, doors and any other areas that have been carefully masked prior to application. General housekeeping then takes place to ensure that the project site is left clean and tidy. There is a check list to be ticked off by the customer with the foreman after each installation. No crew can leave the site until the work is completed to the home owners satisfaction. Any left over material is left with the customer for possible use on garden walls etc.
