High Quality Rendering

Texacote undertake most aspects of exterior rendering, repairs to existing work and going up to fully re-rendering of the property. Many properties we work on often require many patch repairs in a single elevation. To carry out these repairs so that they blend into the surrounding surfaces can sometimes be quite challenging. This issue comes even more difficult if a specific texture has to be matched. Finding a builder who is skilled at doing repairs in this way can be difficult. Our applicators carry out this sort of work most days and are therefore well practiced and skilled at blending in patch repairs. We always strive to achieve invisible external render repairs and utilising a textured exterior wall coating system can further help to conceal repairs and achieve a uniform appearance.

We work on many different types of render including:
  • Coloured Render
  • Pebble Dash
  • Roughcast
  • Tyrolean
  • Spar Dash

Scaffolding will normally be required where large amounts of rendering is required due to the nature in which the render is applied. We can organise scaffolding and get quotes for a customer if we are requested to do so. Where less rendering is required the work can often be completed from ladders (providing access is relatively straight forward) and this helps to keep costs down. When doing re-rendering we use high quality renders that are polymer modified to give excellent adhesion qualities and long life spans such as GRC render (Glass Fibre Reinforced). The incorporation of an alkali resistant mesh can also further add to the strength of the render and increase crack resistance. GRC render is suitable for most substrates.

The K Rend brochure provides all the information you need on the K Rend range.

K-rend is a silicone range which incorporates silicone water repellents as an integral part of the cement based render system. The silicone technology imparts a high degree of water repellence to the render surface whilst allowing water vapour to pass through the render and let the substrate breath.

The water repellent surface ensures a freshly rendered appearance for prolonged periods. The finish is drier and thus more resistant to algae growth.

    K-rend application

Once the defected render or paint work is removed and the scratch coat has been applied, the surface is ready to receive the top coat of K-rend coloured mortar system.

Using a darby or straight edge the top coat of K-rend is applied to the ready prepared surface at a thickness of 16mm, from this there are a choice of two finishes to the render.

    Ecorend

ecorend base coats are high performance, one-coat polymer modified products. They are formulated using unique cross-linked polymer technology offering the highest levels of flexibility and adhesion available in the market today. The products offer excellent levels of workability and can be applied on to most building substrates in low temperatures.

ecorend coloured renders are all high performance cement based and one-coat. Pre-mixed, ready to use with the addition of clean water the only requirement. Highly polymer modified increasing their adhesion strength and adding a highly water repellent quality, shedding water from the surface of the system while allowing vapour to pass through the render.
All products have been designed to have excellent workability and open time properties. The through colour and one-coat feature allows faster application with reduced program periods, thereby reducing associated scaffolding and site costs. One-coat 1 product for the job, if required all products can also be used as a finish coat in conjunction with an ecorend base coat render.

ecorend plastic beads offer a value for money alternative to stainless steel beads because they are made from cost effective recycled exterior grade, impact resistant, UV stable PVCu and are guaranteed not to stain or corrode like galvanized steel beads, reducing spalling and impact damage. Designed to outlast their metal counterparts, plastic beads are guaranteed to be fit for purpose for the lifetime of the render and at least 25 years. Our PVCu beads match the stipulations of the British and European standard for the design requirements of metal beads and lath (BS EN 13658-2:2005), are BBA certified, Class 1Y fire rated, and are not affected by weather.

    Fibrocem High Impact Render Systems

Fibrocem High Impact Render is the most advanced wall protection system ever developed. It can delivery extraordinary durability and a class O Fire rating in only 2 coats.

    Fibrocem High Impact Render Systems

Fibrocem High Impact Render is a pre-mixed ready to use material with the addition of clean water the only requirement. The Fibrocem High Impact Render range is a 2 or 3 coat system that provides extraordinary durability and a class O fire rating. The application of Fibrocem High Impact Renders are similar to standard renders, requiring the use of a stainless steel trowel, and straight edge rule. The Code of Practice for Renders BS 5262 1991 and NBS Building Specification section M20 should be followed.

The Fibrocem render system helps architects, building owners and surveyors to comply with Section B2 of the Building Regulations and fulfil there professional obligations under the Regulatory Reform ( Fire Safety) order (RRFSO).
